Andy Smith Recognised at Beeston HC

Congratulations to Andy Smith who was recently recognised with a Laurie Alcock award for his long term commitment to hockey at Beeston Hockey Club.

Andy has been a club member at Beeston HC for over 35 years, and has held volunteer roles on the committee throughout that time before becoming secretary in 2010.  He has also held the role of county discipline officer for Notts Hockey Association for a number of years.

As well as his roles at Beeston HC, Andy has also fulfilled the role as secretary and director at Nottingham Hockey Centre, helping to organise a number of facility projects over the past ten years including the resurfacing of pitches 1, 2 and 3.  Andy also worked with David and Graham Griffiths to help orchestrate the partnership with the University of Nottingham which led to the construction of pitch 4.
